Bridesmaids and Midterms

Weekends are for family, well for the most part.  I still have two classes I have to send in assignments by Sunday night. Today I closed the books, took a ride with my daughter and mom to look at, bridesmaid gowns.  Anyone who knows me knows this is a kind of torture, I hate shopping. It has been over 20 years since I planned a wedding, let alone was in one as a bride.

I’m not complaining, it was hard enough deciding on a date, and then choosing a location.  It isn’t that we have cold feet, as a matter of fact we are very much in sync. We where about choosing a ring, stone and design.(We Both New) We are very comfortable with each other, and in many ways feel married.  (You know that close comfortable feel a couple has after years and years of being married.)  That is Tom and I, we blended, not perfectly (I’m very much a gypsy at heart and he is a soldier), because we are still different people, but we get each other.  Warts and all….  At the end of the day, I know there is no one else I want to sleep beside, or wake up, next to.  He is my friend, my world, and my heart.

Well, back to my tale, we go in meet with a consultant, grab a stack of dresses, and poof! The first dress my daughter tries on is the one.  I look at my mom, she looks at me, and we know that is, not only the dress for the girls, but the color is right as well.  It’s called “Apple.” It looks beautiful on her. That simple, problem solved.  After weeks of trying to figure out a color, tormenting the back of my mind, the millions of questions regarding what is appropriate and what is not.

Sometimes something so simple can immediately make the pieces of the puzzle start clicking into place.  At times, my life is very crazy; this weekend there is a small Sassy Miss running around my house asking a million questions, a precocious 7 year old and two English bulldogs chasing her.  However, it is all good, and all worthwhile.

Tom cooked his famous fajitas for dinner, I worked on my paper, and it all got done.

Its More then Just a Dream

As a recently married 46 year old I am in the process of finishing my degree. Working to take care of my family and live my life.Blogging, working, writing, and chugging along like most of us.  Who am I ? I am you, I am me, I am your mother, friend, the best and worst that we each have inside of us. I am a different perspective and find myself fascinated by the interesting moments in life.
