Some Days are Really Really Good.
Wow was today great…. I finally was fed up, and had my hair cut they way I like it. Well it’s a little longer than that. You would think that something so simple would not be important but it is. How I wear, my hair is part of who I am. I felt naked and off balance, letting it grow out for so long. How we see ourselves is just as important as how others see us.
Giving in to my kids and letting my hair grow was a big mistake. It was annoying I forgot how much I hated my hair long. At 45 I am very comfortable in my own skin, change is not always better.
I am also excited about the flower show, which is tomorrow and I will be there. I know there are some out there who would rather have root canal then go to a flower show, but hey, it’s what I like.
The best part of my day though was the interview I got to have with a prominent Poet from New Jersey . Both she and her work impressed me. Sometimes it’s where you least expect it that you find real encouragement from others. I hope that I will be able to post my article here as well, but I am not sure on that one. Alicia Ostriker is well worth the read; her poetry in The Book of Seventy is contemporary and current and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Its More then Just a Dream
- As a recently married 46 year old I am in the process of finishing my degree. Working to take care of my family and live my life.Blogging, working, writing, and chugging along like most of us. Who am I ? I am you, I am me, I am your mother, friend, the best and worst that we each have inside of us. I am a different perspective and find myself fascinated by the interesting moments in life.
