t seems like every day more prices are going up. I recently came across an old electric bill from 3 years ago and my electric has actually almost doubled. I am not using more electric, so why has it gone up? The same can be said for our gas prices, I can remember thinking $1.50 was high for gas now it is almost up to $4.00 a gallon.
Yet many still are not making enough to survive, the average raise is 5% to 3% and that is considered a really good raise. Doesn’t our government realize they are squeezing out the middle class in this country? Do they even really care?
I've heard the presidential candidates, and their agenda’s but it seems like more of the same thing.
What has happened to us as a country? When did we sign on to become controlled by big corporations, the media is owned and controlled by large corporations, (this means that the opinions your reading are geared toward what they want you to hear) who in turn make million dollar donations to political parties. Plus, there are the normal corporate donations to parties and individual campaigns. It only takes common sense to see that if someone is paying the way for a political candidate, they will lean towards what is going to make those supporters happy.
The united states census bureau has shown that the poverty rate : “In 2010, 46.2 million people were in poverty, up from 43.6 million in 2009—the fourth consecutive annual increase in the number of people in poverty (Table 4 and Figure 4 from 2011 census bureau).” Now those figures aren't counting individuals on unemployment and if you took the people receiving social security as well you would be adding another 6 million people to those numbers.
These numbers are real, and to turn a blind eye and think that can’t happen to me is just foolish. If we do not wake up as a society, the conditions that occurred in France before the French Revolution or in Germany during the Great Depression could very well become our own reality.
Throwing money at people to hush the problem isn’t a solution because eventually it will run out. Understanding that we have a growth of 3 million people a year, at a poverty level, is a problem or .....
am I just being paranoid?
