Amish Cinnamon Bread
Have you ever received one of those bags from a friend for making Amish Cinnamon Bread? It gives you a big long story about how there is a secret ingredient that only the Amish know about and add that makes this bread work. You don’t refrigerate it, you can't cook it in a metal pan, and you have to play with it and let the air out every day. Yes we received one of those from a family member and it was interesting to watch the kids squish the bags and let the air out every day. At this point I do have to say that when we got to the tenth day when you make the bread we were all rather surprised at how well it came out. Of course my youngest added to much of the vanilla pudding but if anything I think it made it better and more moist. It is one of those little things that will keep your kids busy, and give them something to look forward to. The bread is yummy a very sweet confection of goodness. I haven’t attempted to make up a starter on my own, but I will and update you with the recipe if it works. We of course gave out the four other bags that were created when we baked the bread. After all it is only fair that someone else gets to enjoy this wonderful treat. For a family activity this one worked out really well, and by the time we got to the second batch,”yes we did it again.” Everyone was pitching in, it turned out to be a simple project that everyone could help with and then enjoy. It can be hard to find things to do with our kids over the summer, people are watching their money more and more. Frankly it can be expensive to do things as a family today, so whether you have amish cinnamon bread (which you can find the recipe on Google )or just want to make some banana bread or a batch of cookies do it. That hour or so you spend talking and joking around will stay with them as they grow, it is worth seeing their smiles and laughter as you do something together.
Its More then Just a Dream
- As a recently married 46 year old I am in the process of finishing my degree. Working to take care of my family and live my life.Blogging, working, writing, and chugging along like most of us. Who am I ? I am you, I am me, I am your mother, friend, the best and worst that we each have inside of us. I am a different perspective and find myself fascinated by the interesting moments in life.
